Green Lake Bat Walk

Bats Northwest is back at Green Lake this summer! We will be hosting informational bat talks followed by participation in the Bat Activity Trends community science program. Come learn about our local bat species, find out how you can help protect bats, then participate in a 30 minute bat observation for science! These programs are free and open to everyone, no registration needed. We meet near the Seattle Public Theater Bath house near Green Lake’s West Beach. Look for the Bats Northwest sign near the trail! (This program lasts 1.5-2 hours depending on the weather and the bats). We will be hosting programs every other Thursday evenings July 11 - September 5th.

Join Bats Northwest’s Niki Desautels for this Methow Conservancy Zoom event, Tuesday November 7th at 7PM. Learn about the bats that share your backyard! Bats are one of Washington’s most interesting and most misunderstood groups of animals. Fifteen species of bats make their home here from the rare spotted bat, with its black and white fur and huge pink ears, to the canyon bat, so small it is sometimes mistaken for a moth. All About Bats with Barb Ogaard

Attention all ghosts and goblins!!! The Bat Lady will be at the Adopt A Stream Foundation’s Northwest Stream Center on Friday night at 7:00pm October 20th in Snohomish County’s McCollum Park (600 128th Street SE, Everett WA 98208). The Bat Lady also goes by the name of Barbara Ogaard. She rehabilitates injured bats for the Sarvey Wildlife Center and is a researcher for Bat’s Northwest. Pre-register for the Bat Show by calling 425-316-8592; or following this link: https://www.streamkeeper.org/about

$5 for Adopt A Stream Foundation members, $7 non-members. Masks will be required to attend this event.

Join bat rehabilitator, Meg Lunnum for this online event on Friday, October 20th from 4 - 5pm. She will provide an introduction to World bats and Washington state bats, describe the bat life cycle and give information about bats in houses and making and installing Bat Houses.

Sunset Bat Walk at the Tukwila Community Center

Bats Northwest is partnering with Green Tukwila and Woodland Park Zoo on this hybrid workshop to teach about local bats and then ends with a Bat Walk. Come learn how you can make a difference in the lives of these mammals and how you can impact science by joining in and being a community scientist collecting data. This workshop will teach you the ins and outs of reporting bat sightings. The Bat Walk will be on paved trails around the Tukwila Community Center. Please wear comfortable shoes and be dressed for the outdoors. The event is free but registration is required.
