Beavers Northwest, Bats Northwest, the Woodland Park Zoo, and the City of Mercer Island are teaming up for a Beavers and Bats event on August 6th at Luther Burbank Park in Mercer Island!
We will spend the first portion of the evening looking for beavers, and discussing the crucial role they play in our local ecosystems. We will then spend time learning about the bats in our region before participating in the Woodland Park Zoo's Bat Activity Trends (BAT) community science program!
The event will last approximately 2 hours and participants will travel a distance of approximately 1 mile on flat gravel trails and boardwalks. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and to dress for the weather. For best viewing of wildlife, we recommend bringing binoculars. There will be a few pairs available to borrow.
Participants will meet at the amphitheater in the park here.
