Keen's Myotis
(Myotis keenii)
These bats have the smallest geographic range of any bat in North America - Northwest Washington and western British Columbia into Alaska. They are believed to be solitary and roost in tree cavities and rock crevices. Capturing insects, these superb flyers can execute an abrupt turn in 1/16 of a second. Little is known about the populations or status of Keens.
